The Presidio

Here’s another shot from the forts project, looking up from the bastion at the Presidio de San Saba.  The Presidio is an old Spanish fort built in 1757, located along the banks of the San Saba River.

It’s quite the impressive structure!

  1. Great photograph. With your camera angle, you bring out the feeling of being locked out, like the place is impenetrable. Plus the composition is good too.

    • Thanks David – considering that the Comanche and other American Indians in the area didn’t have canons, and the fort had easy access to water, this fort would have been a tough nut to crack.

  2. Impressive structure yes… and an impressive way of presenting it. Good work Derrick.

  3. I’ll say! I like this composition…. the walls are ‘hugging’ that sky!
