The daggers
Dagger Flats is a fun ride into the Big Bend backcountry. It used to be marked on the map as “two wheel drive/high clearance” vehicle required. Earlier this year, that “road” had changed to “4×4″….. Don’t let that dissuade you from heading that way, however. If you have a two wheel drive truck, you’re not a complete idiot and know how to drive, it’s fine. If you make it to the end, during the late springtime with the right amount of rainfall…. you’ll be rewarded by an entire valley filled up with blooming dagger plants like these. Quite the scene for sure!
