Tapestry

The more work I do with the new camera, the more impressed I am with the leap in technology!

HDR works

This is one of those images that was bound to be either over or underexposed, depending on where you set your exposure.  Set the exposure on the petroglyphs and the sky was blown out. Set the exposure on the sky and you couldn’t see the petroglyphs; all of which opened the door perfectly for shooting this scene in HDR, in camera.  The beauty is that you can take shots like this – hand held, no tripod required!

Now, for the sake of full disclosure – the image doesn’t always come out perfect – there have been a handful of times when the wind is really gusting, for example, that you move too much for it to work.  But the vast majority of the time you wind up with an image like this one – that reflects what you are seeing behind the lens – and you don’t have to lug around a big tripod!
