CW 150 – Gettysburg
Confederate General Robert E. Rodes launched an attack across this lovely field from the right side of the image to the left, pressing his attack throughout the day until forcing the Union troops off to the left to break ranks and retreat backwards to Gettysburg, 150 years ago today.
Today, this field is covered with wildflowers (or at least it was a couple years ago when I was there) and if you didn’t know… you’d never suspect that one of the greatest battles in American history was fought over it.
The beauty and silence of your shot speaks volumes, thank you Derrick.
