If only these decks could talk.... Commissioned in 1914, the USS Texas has sailed across the globe protecting the United States in WW1 and WW2. She is the sole remaining dreadnaught left in the world today and is truly a Texas (and American!) treasure.

I guess I watched too many episodes of Victory at Sea as a kid! But seeing the Texas in person I couldn’t help but try to mimic that shot.

Today’s lunchtime session with Max was really good and focused. Bugs were flying around that he has been trying to catch, the squirrels were doing their usual thing and mowers were going in the yard next door.
Despite all of the distractions he focused on our work together and when done, rather than go bonkers because the mowers were right on the other side of the fence, he chose to come set up with me and keep a watchful eye on them.
For a 6.5 month old pup that I’ve been working with for 2.5 months... I’m pretty damn pleased. I’ve been working with Max every day following #trikos #trikosteamdog principles and while it sometimes seems like it’s one step forward, two steps back I have worked hard to put my ego in check and be patient with the boy. Thanks @mritland and @teamdogtraining for the guidance!
